It crowns a lifetime of work devoted to the so-called commons : social organizations that collectively manage resources by setting their own rules. She has shown empirically how these forms of self-government were often more capable of preserving common goods, such as pastureland or water distribution, than states or the market. Particularly interested in the management of natural resources, she became interested in the digital as a new commons at the end of her career. By showing that there were other forms of organization that went beyond the public-private divide, Ostrom initiated a renewal of economic, sociological and, above all, political thought. Restoring this political problematic, which is sometimes obliterated by an alleged axiological neutrality, this article considers the possible strategies induced by the commons. >> --- # Note. --- # Annotations%% begin annotations %% %% end annotations %% %% Import Date: 2025-01-31T14:55:57.447+01:00 %%
